How to Get Around

Getting around Phang Nga is best achieved by renting a motorbike (approx. THB 250/day) for flexibility or using songthaews (shared pick-up trucks) for local travel. For exploring the bay, hire private longtail boats from Surakul Pier (approx. THB 2000 for up to 10 people), while long-distance travel is managed by buses from the central station.

Key Transportation Options

MOTORBIKE RENTAL

The most convenient, fast, and inexpensive way to explore Phang Nga Town and nearby sights like viewpoints and temples.

SONGTHAEWS

Local, colorful pickup trucks that function as taxis or buses for short distances. Motorbike Taxis: Available for quick, cheap trips around town, usually costing THB 30–50.

PRIVATE HIRE/TAXI

No meter taxis exist, so you must negotiate fares for private drivers to take you around for the day.

LONGTAIL BOAT

Best for visiting Phang Nga Bay, James Bond Island, and mangroves. Head to Surakul Pier early to secure a boat.
